Haunted

A piano lived where

The door used to be

Even with the entryway

Moved — hidden to the side

Instead of being a welcome

Beacon facing the road

Her ghost still found

Its way inside

The house that was

And the house that was before that

War in memory

Superimposed

Images unexpectedly coordinating

Only to distort elsewhere

Her ghost still found

Crannies to fill

Shaped itself into a woman

Ravaged by disease

Unwilling to surrender

With sad eyes watching

A granddaughter at play

From the only room where

Memories align
